This week we actually put our graduate degrees in film to use while we discuss the amazing film Wind River. The 2017 film is a fictional story inspired by thousands of missing and murdered indigenous women, girls, and two spirit people. These stories make up the real Wind River.
In honour of May 5th’s Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons Awareness Day, we give an overview the horrifying statistics affecting these communities as well as some specific cases. As always you can learn more from the links below, and be on the look out for us to cover some of these cases in greater depth in future episodes.
